Alex g is a american rock band formed in 2006 in san diego, the band's members are both teenagers who are passionate about the music they play. Alex g has always been interested in music and has always loved rock music. When they met their first band mates, they quickly saw the potential in the band and made it a priority. In addition to their music, Alex G is also a social media & twitter addict who loves seeing what others have written about their music. They have several releases upcoming and are currently in their second album. Alex g has always wanted to be a musician and this concert was their first chance to show their face in Chicago. The concert was large and popular demand led them to the idea of playing at the ocala municipal auditorium. The group is named after alex leake, an american artist who was born in russia to a british father and a chinese mother. Alex g is the product of a relationship between a fan and a musician. The fan is the lead singer, Alex G, and the musician is outround percussionist/composer, thresholds drummer, david barnes. The group's first album was released in 2022 and they continue to tour throughout the united states and canada as well as japan.
Alex G is a new and fledgling band that has quite the history in the Chicago area. They've just finished a show at the university of Chicago's soldier field, and I'm sure they'll be following it up with a show at some other affected location. What's interesting about Alex G is their focus on traditional music - although they do include a few modern songs in their set, they're not looking to over-lain traditionalism. What is important is the musicianship, and that's what I saw at the concert. The band was young and untested, but the musicianship is good. With such a history in the area, the band has a lot to prove.
